BioSS (part of James Hutton Institute)

Biomathematics and Statistics Scotland (BioSS) are experts in applying statistical, mathematical modelling, statistical genomics and bioinformatics-based data analyses to agricultural problems. BioSS collaborates with many partners, providing advanced quantitative input into projects from many application areas, including livestock, plant, crop, ecological and environmental sciences. Our activities range from providing advice and support in applying appropriate quantitative methods to development of new quantitative methodologies. In the agri-tech sector, BioSS can provide expertise in data visualisation and analysis, systems modelling, quantitative methods to underpin automation, and design and analysis of statistical studies for validating new technology.
