Farmer Charlie offers information and decision support to farmers at a competitive cost. Farmer Charlie is made of a software layer, namely a user-friendly app supported by a low-cost infrastructure that is easy to deploy, use and maintain. It includes connectivity and IoT sensors measuring humidity, temperature, luminosity, NPK/pH in the field. Our sensors are highly adaptable and are currently deployed in South Africa for our SOFI-2 project partners. They can be used indoors and outdoors and are especially suited to urban farmers (private and community gardeners, allotment owners) and rural small farmers in the UK and abroad.
