Dr Peter Quinn was Chair of CHAP and led the creation of the UK Agri-Tech Centre through the merger of CHAP, CIEL and Agri-EPI Centre, helping establish a single organisation focused on accelerating the adoption of agri-tech across the UK.
With extensive experience as a Chair, CEO, Managing Director and Non-Executive Director across the agri-food, agri-tech, biotechnology and consumer goods sectors, Peter has built a career around turning innovation into commercial success.
He currently chairs Branston Potato Ltd, the UK’s largest integrated potato producer and prepared food business, alongside several commercial innovation businesses in the agri-food and agri-tech sectors.
Peter is passionate about connecting science, industry and investment to help businesses commercialise new technologies, scale innovation and deliver value for customers, investors and stakeholders. His leadership and extensive industry network support the UK Agri-Tech Centre’s mission to help businesses prove their technologies, build commercial success and achieve real-world impact.
He also serves on the boards of several charitable ESG organisations, championing opportunities for disadvantaged young people through education, skills and employment. Peter holds a BSc and PhD in Applied and Medical Microbiology, an MBA, and a postgraduate qualification in Industrial Fermentation, combining scientific expertise with commercial leadership. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.
