Mark brings over 15 years of AgriFoodTech leadership as a General Partner (investor), entrepreneur and Non-Executive/Managing Director. His focus is on helping drive resilient food supply by empowering startups, farmers and industry stakeholders shape the next generation of food systems.
Rooted in his upbringing on a mixed arable, dairy, and beef farm in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, he bridges the gap between hands-on production and high-level strategic governance.
As Managing Partner at Rockstart, Mark initiated and built dedicated AgriFood Funds I and II, chairing the Investment Committee to steward a portfolio of over 70 startups from pre-seed to Series B. His background includes pioneering Europe’s first vertical farms as a member of the startup-team and Director at a venture backed Swiss agtech company, UrbanFarmers AG, alongside hands-on experience with arable, livestock, greenhouse, and recirculating aquaculture systems.
A qualified Scottish solicitor with an Executive MBA (cum laude) from Rotterdam School of Management, Mark is dedicated to leveraging his investment and operational expertise to support the next generation of agricultural innovators.
