With decades of leadership across farming, food and agricultural policy, Tim Bennett brings a unique perspective to his role at the UK Agri-Tech Centre, spanning primary production, the food supply chain and industry governance.
His career includes serving as Chair of the Food Standards Agency, President of the National Farmers’ Union of England and Wales, Chair of DairyCo, and leadership roles across a range of agricultural and food organisations.
Tim chaired CIEL, one of the UK Agri-Tech Centre’s legacy organisations, from 2016 until its merger into the UK Agri-Tech Centre in 2024.
As a first-generation farmer in South West Wales, Tim combines strategic leadership with practical farming experience across dairy, beef and egg production. His deep understanding of the challenges facing farmers and the wider supply chain helps the UK Agri-Tech Centre strengthen connections between innovators, industry and end users, supporting the successful adoption of technologies that deliver commercial and real-world impact.
Tim’s extensive industry network and commitment to collaboration support the Centre’s mission to help agri-tech businesses prove their technologies, build commercial success and scale innovation across UK agriculture.
