DATA-BEE Project
Published: December 11, 2024

The UK Agri-Tech Centre has recently been selected to participate in one of Innovate UK’s Climate-Smart Agriculture Partnership scoping projects. Our focus will be on advancing digital agriculture and precision farming through the Digital Agri-Tech Africa-Brazil Ecosystem Management (DATA-BEE) project.

This initiative, targeting Nigeria and Ghana, is dedicated to fostering collaboration between the UK, Brazil and Africa, facilitating knowledge sharing, understanding technology gaps and bringing together expertise to build an agri-tech ecosystem.

About the DATA-BEE partnership

The Climate-Smart Agriculture Partnership spearheaded by Innovate UK is a transformative program designed to cultivate innovation and resilience in global agriculture. Through its scoping projects, it seeks to bridge expertise and practices across continents to develop sustainable solutions for food production systems that are resilient to climate change.

The role of the UK Agri-Tech Centre

As the UK’s largest dedicated agri-tech organisation, we are uniquely positioned to foster innovation and drive the development of climate-smart solutions. Our role in the DATA-BEE project will include:

  • Facilitating collaboration between stakeholders in the UK, Brazil, Ghana and Nigeria.
  • Promoting the exchange of expertise, technologies and practices to advance digital agriculture and precision farming.
  • Connecting researchers, technologists and industry leaders to support sustainable and resilient food systems.

A global mission

Our participation in this partnership underscores our mission to empower innovators and deliver impactful solutions that address the critical challenges facing global agriculture. By leveraging the expertise within our network, we aim to accelerate the adoption of technologies that will transform farming practices, reduce environmental impact and support food security in some of the most climate-vulnerable regions.
