UK Agri-Tech Centre took part in the South West AgriTech Showcase 2024, with discussions highlighting the pivotal role of sustainable collaboration in shaping not just the South West region, but also the global food supply chain.

Companies from across the UK showcased their efforts in how they are looking to tackle climate change and ensure food security, whilst emphasising the importance of collective action. 

Start-ups and farming businesses underscored the necessity of breaking down industry silos, fostering partnerships to leverage emerging technologies effectively. 

Parity, behavioural change, and diversity were discussed as essential elements for driving progress in the agricultural sector, and levelling the status quo was highlighted as crucial, emphasising the significance of agriculture in ensuring long-term resilience and wellbeing.


An open collaborative approach became clear as an imperative for aligning data integration across the entire food supply chain, empowering farmers with actionable insights.

Event speakers included CEO of UK Agri-Tech Centre, Phil Bicknell, CEO of Oxi-Tech Solutions, Paul Morris, Director of Pollenize, Matthew Elmes, Farmer Rob Addicott of Stratton Farms, and Farm Lead of UK Agri-Tech Centre, Robert Morrison.

Phil Bicknell, who represented UK Agri-Tech Centre, discussed the mission of the new centre to expedite the integration of technology into the agricultural sector. The event not only celebrated technological advancements but propelled forward discussions about the widespread adoption of these innovations.”
