UK Agri-Tech Centre helps Carbon Rewild unlock new business opportunities

Carbon Rewild, a biodiversity monitoring company specialising in ecological data and environmental reporting, worked with the UK Agri-Tech Centre, through its Agri-Tech Solution Sprint programme, to accelerate its understanding of the agricultural sector, build valuable industry relationships and generate new commercial opportunities.

Working across multiple industries, Carbon Rewild saw the Sprint as an opportunity to better understand the specific agricultural landscape and strengthen its position within the food supply chain.

Bridge the knowledge gap

While Carbon Rewild already had experience supporting organisations with biodiversity monitoring and environmental impact reporting, the team recognised that breaking into agriculture would require deeper insight into how the sector and supermarket supply chains really operate in practice

“We wanted good insights into the agricultural sector and gain knowledge that we didn’t possess in-house, so the Sprint was a really good fit for us,” said Stefan Zeeman, co-founder of Carbon Rewild.

Through the programme, the UK Agri-Tech Centre provided a structured and efficient way for the business to access sector expertise, market intelligence and industry connections without requiring a significant time commitment.

Delivering practical outcomes

The Sprint began with an introductory session where the UK Agri-Tech Centre team worked closely with Carbon Rewild to understand the business, its objectives and where support would have the greatest impact.

From there, the Sprint team carried out targeted research, stakeholder engagement and industry outreach before delivering detailed findings and recommendations through a follow-up session.

“It was quite a light-touch approach from our side,” Stefan explained. “We shared our expectations and what we would like to get value from, and the Sprint team took it from there. The total time commitment for us was only a few hours throughout the process, which was great for a busy business like ours.”

The support enabled Carbon Rewild to quickly access insights and connections that would have otherwise taken significant time and resource to build independently.

Business impact through targeted introductions

One of the most valuable elements of working with the UK Agri-Tech Centre was team’s ability to connect Carbon Rewild directly with relevant stakeholders across the agricultural and food sectors.

“The team were able to outreach through their own network and came back with warm leads; individuals who were already interested in speaking to us,” Stefan said. “This provided us with a really targeted approach that we could use moving forward.”

These introductions helped Carbon Rewild engage directly with organisations across the supply chain, creating opportunities to better understand industry priorities while also opening doors to commercial conversations.

Importantly, the Sprint delivered tangible business outcomes beyond networking and insight gathering.

“We’ve had a couple of really good conversations, and in some cases that’s led to new business for us this summer,” Stefan added.

The programme also gave the company greater visibility into the reporting and sustainability needs of supermarket stakeholders, helping Carbon Rewild better position its services within the wider food supply chain.

“Speaking to supermarket stakeholders about the needs they have from a reporting perspective was really valuable for us to understand how we fit into the wider picture of the food supply chain.”

Supporting commercial growth in agri-tech

Reflecting on the experience, Stefan said the UK Agri-Tech Centre delivered meaningful commercial value through its combination of sector understanding, practical support and industry connectivity.

“The team demonstrated a really strong understanding of the commercial landscape, even if they weren’t necessarily from our specific field of work,” he said. “It meant they were able to deliver really meaningful output to us that was of high value.”

For Carbon Rewild, the UK Agri-Tech Centre acted as a catalyst for business growth – helping the company build sector knowledge, establish valuable relationships and convert new opportunities into commercial outcomes through a focused and collaborative programme.

The next round of Agri-Tech Solution Sprints opens on 1 July.
